Engine tested on our dyno using MSD ignition and Quick Fuel Q750 carburetor.  See dyno screen below.  Peak Horsepower and Torque  470/464.


1968 L78 396 Big Block Chevrolet 375hp
1968 GM 4-bolt #440 block, align honed, bored .060 and decked, GM rods reconditioned with ARP bolts.
GM steel Nitride crankshaft, std/std, balanced.  8" Balancer, internal.
L2328 TRW dome forged pistons and Hastings rings.
GM #840 cylinder heads date code F8, 2.250/1.72 PBM standard length valves, 108cc chambers, new springs, PBM chromo retainers, green locks.
Competition Cams 11-676-4 solid flat tappet camshaft / Lift 553/568; Dur 230/236 @ .050, Lobe separation 110, installed at 105 intake, Solid lifters with oil hole.  Hardened push rods, 9.250 and 8.280.  Comp Cams roller-tip rockers.
True roller 9 keyway adjustable timing set.
GM L78 Aluminum intake manifold #3933163
ARP hardware, Felpro gaskets, Melling oil pump and pickup.
